I'm actually sitting in class right now...

So I'm in lighting class right now. We're critiquing pictures from the past two weeks' assignment, in which we really only had one week to shoot due to Thanksgiving. We won't have any more real "assignments" this next week, but our portfolio is due next Thursday. It has to be 8 pictures, 2 can be from old assignments, though, so I'm not stressing too bad. I shot my friend Hannah last night, but we'll have to revisit that because I didn't get the look I wanted. I'm possibly shooting again tonight, definitely tomorrow, and hopefully Saturday. I have a French oral final on Monday where I just have to speak 5 minutes, which shouldn't be so hard...I hope. The only final I'm really worried about is accounting 200. Blah.
Thanksgiving was a blast, even though the scratches from Claws are still healing. He doesn't get along very well with cousin Quinn, but that didn't stop his curiosity. Lots of food and sleeping and playing with puppies =) I also bought my dining room table that's actually gonna be in my kitchen! I haven't actually assembled it. Matter of fact, it's still in the back seat of my car...in the box. I might assemble it tonight if I don't line up a shoot.
Basically the next week will be all about lining up portraits for my portfolio, which I may enjoy more than I'm anticipating.
Two more weeks of school, and then that's it!
B and I adopted two kids from the Salvation Army Angel Tree, a 6-9 month old boy and an 18-ish month old girl. We're going shopping for them this weekend =D I'll let you know what we get.
I made fudge and cookies and sausage balls last night...I felt domestic.
I will not leave you with a picture of baby Claws hiding under Daddy's night stand because he could hear Quinn in the other room.

Oh, hello 4 month break...

SO after July 27, I was kidnapped and taken to an evil boarding school located off the coast of New Dheli and that's what I haven't updated.
...
I mean, not really, but it was SOMETHING like that.
We left camp August 6 at 5 am after staying up literally all night and headed for Fort Meyers, Florida, where Brian's parents met us for some well deserved beach time. There was much "shelling" and sunning and swimming and going out to eat and NO SUNBURNS! Wahoo!
After that week ended, I spent some time relaxing at home (somewhat) and preparing to move into my big girl apartment around the 17th or so. I actually forgot the real date, but I made one trip up just to move some preliminary boxes and furniture and do some hardcore cleaning. (Scrubbed, bleached, and powerwashed the deck and siding. Cleaned under the stove that probably hadn't ever been cleaned. Tried to destroy mold in the shower. Actually knocked the bird nests off my ac units. Vacuumed the carpet 74529461438 times. Washed the walls. Cleaned out the sick nasty fridge. Washed the kitchen cabinets and put in shelf paper. Ya know, basic stuff like that.)
I spent about a week back in the BG before classes started and that's what I've been doing ever since. Work, class, class, sleep, work, class, class, class, work, work, shoot, class, work, class, sleep, etc.
I LOVE being a tour guide for WKU! It's really neat to get to impact potential students and really create an experience they'll remember when they think of us.
Anyway, there are just a few weeks left in the semester and I have no idea where time has gone! I just rearranged the Trust Tree, as my apartment has been named, so for Claire's sake, I will post those pictures now =)
Also, in case you were unaware, I am not paying for cable or internet, thus the main source for lack of updates. However, there is now free public wi-fi in certain areas of Bowling Green, and I am in one of them. Sweet niblets.

Pictures of my apartment as of 30 minutes ago:

my reading/studios corner. it's a work in process. note the clock.

My very messy coffee table and couch. This is what you see when you first walk in my front (and only door).

Corner of my bathroom that's actually interesting.

My messy bed/messy desk/messy junk corner. Haven't cleaned it after the rearranging process, but I put this picture here anyway.

I'm going to move my nightstand by my bed. I just haven't done it yet.

Just remembered I only have one class tomorrow! And Bible study Turkey Day feast tomorrow night! Gonna be a greeeeat day.

SAMBICA

We've had about zero internet at camp, and I"m currently....borrowing from the neighbors, so I thought I"d throw in a quick update. This summer has been great! I can't believe next week is my last out here, then a week in Florida, then home. It had absolutely flown by, but I'm ready to not be wearing a one piece bathing suit under my clothes all day. I've got first grade girls this week and they're so much fun. One of them is from France and is teaching me two words every day. Her dad is the "chef of Starbucks." But really he's like the regional manager of Starbucks in France.
Did I mention most of these kids come from money? Yeah, they do. But most of the time you can't tell until they get to 4th of 5th grade.
It's almost time for dinner so I'm gonna get going.
See what they've done to me? Dinner. DINNER?!

...supper.

Guess what I found?

I leave for SAMBICA in one day, and I'm getting very very very very very excited and anxious and antsy. Ansty? Eh, whatever. I weighed my suitcase last night and it came in at a whopping 48.6 pounds, which doesn't hold a candle to when Momma and I packed for Hawai'i and nailed 49.5, leaving .5 leeway for scale differences =D THAT was a proud moment. I've got a few more things to pack and then we shall see what happens.
Also, I found Buddy underneath the green recliner last night! I couldn't find him since we got back from the lake on Memorial Day, and we'd all been on the hunt with no avail. However, Daddy had been right on top of him and never knew it! I had told them that Buddy was still in the plastic bag from the lake, and Dad ripped said bag in half and didn't connect the dots. He had pulled half the blue sealer thing off the top and didn't say anything because he thought it was unrelated, I guess. Regardless, here he is!

Alas, I'm going to eat some lunch, maybe give the kittens their first bath, and then I'm going to Paducah with my momma! Woo!
I hung out with Lexi Hall yesterday (And her baby, Xavier) and we bought Rock Band silly bandz. They're awesome. Just letting you know. I was at the student center until stinkin' 3!!!!! last night. I didn't wake up until a text from B around 11. Much needed sleep.

I'm gonna go eat some food.
I have to do laundry tomorrow. I had to raid my suitcase for legit clothes.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

I LEAVE SATURDAY!

SAMBICA is only five days away; I'll be there Saturday!
I'm watching a nice combination of "Home is Where the Heart is" and Jon & Kate plus 8 because the premiere of Kate plus 8 comes on in an hour (Jon is a 'tard. Who ditches their wife and EIGHT CHILDREN?! Ugh.)
I lost my little point and shoot, Buddy. We took pictures on the lake on Monday with it, and it made it into the food crate and at least to the porch, then I got distracted by kitties and that's all I remember. Where ever he is, I miss him and I want him back. He needs to find me, because I can't find him.
I need to go find some food, because Momma and Daddy ate at life groups, so I'm out on my own. Sad day.
Momma and I have had a very movie-full weekend! We watched Up! and Tooth Fairy and they were great.
I'm gonna watch my movie/tv show now.
Kbye.

Hello, summer break

It's been just over a month since I posted anything on my blog> I was doing so well at the beginning of the school year, and now look at me.
However, I hope to be bringing it back a little bit more during the summer, since I'll be in Seattle working at SAMBICA summer camp from June 13-August 7, and then traveling to Sanibel Island with the Campbell's until August 14. Then school starts on the 30th. WOW!
It's going to be quite an eventful summer, but until I get to that, I assume there's some filling in to be done on the last month.
I found a cute apartment not too far from campus that's the upstairs to a detachment garage that I took mom and dad to see when they came to help me move out. They were fans for the most part, and I"d like to credit that to the gas stove =) It needs some work in a few places, ie new stairs that don't wiggle and no bird nests in the air conditioner, but I feel like that can be accomplished while I'm in Washington. I've got to make that phone call and see what can be done before any official decisions are made, though.
I went to Louisville this past weekend so B and I could shoot the lovely wedding of Zachary Parker and Hilary Olp...now Parker. It was a BLAST! They were very organized and timely, something we haven't experienced before. We had enough time to shoot some goofy portraits with them and relax a little bit, too. Pictures can be found on our photo blog, bcphotography.posterous.com
In the mean time, I've been attempting to clean my room, which has the entire contents of my dorm room boxed up in the middle of the floor, sorting through wedding pictures (which we finally finished today) and tomorrow I get to pressure wash the loading dock at the library! A little extra money to shop for Sambica won't hurt anything.
I bought parrot hats for Brian and myself today. We're gonna be the awesomest counselors ever. I hope.
Our kittens are getting so big! Before I left for Louisville they fit in one hand, and when I got back, it takes two to wrangle 'em! They like to destroy plants and chase each other; it's adorable.
I'm about to order a new cover for my lovely MacBook, as my blue one is scratching the bottom to infinity and beyond, and investing in a keyboard cover to keep the nasties off my keys.
I'll have limited internet access at camp, so there will be some updates, and a need for cleanliness, I'm sure.
I'm also waiting for Tuesday to order a pair of beautiful Chaco sandals with my first SwagBucks Amazon.com gift card. It will be epic. I just got a call from AllStar photo. No, I cannot work all day tomorrow. Sorry.
But I'm still waiting for that check...hmm...
I'm so ready for this summer, but there's definitely some work that needs to get done first. I get sidetracked with wanting to pack and buy fun things, but I really need to clean my room, work on devotional material, and prepare my personal testimony, which I've never really taken the time to write down. But I guess that's normal.
I still like my parrot hat though.
I'm gonna go grab a snack.

If you know anyone that needs a photographer in the fall, lemme know!

College: Spring 2010 -- Almost the end

Wedding number three was just booked for May 22, 2010 in Campbellsville, Kentucky. I do believe I'm pumped because according to Katie Decillo they're playing board games at their reception.
Um, awesome.
And it's going to be really short compared to the last two, which is also awesome. 10-4>3-10. Just saying.
I have to work on my final project for reporting though, but I thought I owed the world a blog post, especially after a lazy weekend and Chuck E. Cheese!

Almost the end of my spring semester

Megan and I are turning our swag on.
But we're afraid our neighbors might jump us.
Megan and her boyfriend broke up, so we're simply being crazy and it's awesome.
Also, we got facebook married =)
Except B and I have been together for 6 months as of RIGHT now.
I got a call from a photo editor for the Talisman today, and I'm supposed to go shoot from 3-4 on Friday for a "24 hours" spread. 15 bucks a picture. Not sure why I didn't think of this before.
Anywho, just updating the blog.
Super pumped about the wedding this weekend; I talked with the bride today and pretty much everything seems smoothed out.
Ok, dance party on.

Towards the end of College: Spring 2010

It's been a rather crazy week, but it has ended rather nicely.
Megan and I went to Preston Monday and Wednesday, which felt glorious. I'm about to head back that way. I had a speech yesterday which went well, and my project was quite amusing for Multimedia. I laid out on the hill behind Preston Tuesday and read, just because it was 80 degrees and I could =)
Easter was mucho fun-o. Milkshake's kittens are precious. Claire makes a good point that I haven't skyped anyone since I got everyone webcams, but I'm working on it! I'm also working on my schedule for next semester, scholarship applications, and looking at job openings.
Enrollment has increased by an entire dorm (879 students, 4.7 percent), so I'm pretty sure that I'm living off campus next year. Thus, I'm back to apartment shopping and dreaming as usual.
I bought black flats at Target yesterday, they're really comfy, and I didn't want to wear my shiny shoes to shoot in at the wedding next weekend.
Flights have been booked for Sambica, and I REALLY need that $300 from the wedding. Flash diffusers and extra batteries are somewhere in Amazon/Overstock limbo, but should be here shortly.
B and I are going downtown to play and shoot when he gets off work in an hour. Which means I have about 45 minutes to go to the gym. Guess I'll go do that.
We're going to Louisville in the morning for his dad's 50th birthday, but his dad doesn't know it. I'm going to go to the party supply store to find something obnoxious tonight to decorate with =)
I'm in love with this weather. I don't see how people deny God any time, but especially in spring when everything's in bloom.
New favorites: Dave Barns and JJ Heller. Look 'em up and listen.
Also, I can't wait for my tax money to come back. That'll be a happy day =)
I'M READY FOR SUMMER! Only 4 more weeks of school and then finals and then I'll have a whole YEAR of college behind me. Whoa. I feel like such a big kid.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Brian and I ordered business cards from vistaprint.com a few weeks back, and they came in yesterday. I was super excited. Now I actually have to throw some stuff on the website. No bueno!
I'm about to take a biology test and I really kinda sorta don't want to. It's going to be the opposite of fun.
I got my post-hire packet from SAMBICA yesterday. It made me even happier than the cards.
I'm going to Louisville tonight for the FCCLA State Meeting. There's gonna be awards and a nice dinner and some serious catching up to do. Oddly enough, I've missed that giant red man-blazer. And all the cool people we got to hang out with. The only downside is that I have to shave my legs. That is no fun.
The Bradford Pear trees are all blooming, and anytime I walk to or from my dorm, it smells like sewer now. I don't care if they're pretty, their smell makes me want to vomit.
I'm going to stop procrastinating and go take this test.

College: Spring 2010 -- Day [I lost count]

A lot has happened since I last updated my wonderful blog. I was doing so well to keep up with it until this whole "school" thing got in the way. I didn't realize it had been almost a month though...wow.
So, since February 25, I've seen David Hume Kennerly speak which was completely amazing. He's had access to several presidents was the "personal photographer" for Ford. That just seems ridiculous. I can only hope I have a job 1/8 as awesome as that.
Spring Break was March 5-12 so 6 of us headed down to Gulf Shores for a week. We went to the wharf, we went to Lambert's, Aunt Sheila cooked for us, it rained, it was windy, B and I got sunburned, and we met lots of crazy people in the hot tub. All in all, the week was a success. I got to meet Clark's new girlfriend, Amy, but she didn't say much to me because apparently I'm "scary." B and I drove through Pulaski on the way up and stopped to see Savannah and Sarah, which was refreshing as always. I planned to stop on the way down to the beach, but plans got complicated and that was the best I could do.
I work this Saturday for AllStar Photo. I have to be at the store at 5:15. Holy cowwwww.
That's all I'm sayin'. I'll be in Tennessee taking soccer portraits apparently. I get paid $8/hour to sleep in the van and straighten jerseys. I think I'll be ok with that.
Brian and I went to Louisville this past weekend to meet with Reggie and Kasey, whose wedding we will be shooting on April 17. They both seem really fun and the chapel where they're getting married is UH-dorable.
We've ordered business cards and I'm working on setting up a photo-blog-type website. This is becoming legit way fast. We have a family portrait shoot on April 30, as well.
I got a call from the staff organizer guy at SAMBICA today and they're about to mail my post-hire packet =) I'm so excited about this summer, so the next seven weeks of school are gonna take some INTENSE kind of focus.
I found out last week that the campus minister at Greenwood Park is leaving and moving to Phoenix in about five weeks, so that's gonna get kinda shaken up a bit, I think. But I get to watch the hiring process...again! haha
I took a three hour nap today, which was awesome, but maybe a sign that I'm getting sick, because my throat hurts. No worries, I've already busted out the drugs. Though it could be because I woke up at 5:30 a.m. this morning to shoot for my multimedia project..hmm..

Alas, it is picture time!

I've been UBER slacking

Spring break was last week in Gulf Shores. I quadruple pinky promise I'll get a legit update on here soon. After I finish my audio for 261...
and there will be pictures!

College: Spring Semester -- Day 32

This is my first "multimedia" project.
It's only one media, and I'm not sure how much I really like it.

Also, I got bright pink highlighter on my blue and green pillow case last night. NOT cool. I had a public speaking test today, which I feel rather confident about =) I'm giving an informative speech on...photography...Tuesday. No lie, I'm excited. Also, I'm going home this weekend for lots of fun things, including: Seussical the Musical, helping my Katie do baby portraits, and PLAYING WITH MILKSHAKE, among other things.
I miss my kitty.

Ok, I have an hour until class starts, time for food.

PS this video is taking forever to upload.
I'm still hungry.
And I'm getting impatient.

It failed.
I'll try again later.
It's 1:47....47 minutes since I started this. Meh.

College: Spring 2010 -- Day 28

Well, for starters, I had to give my camera to my friend Kori for a little bit. She's taking an Intro to Digital Photography class this semester, and her camera has decided to stop focusing. We have the same make and model, so I loaned her mine until her new one arrives. Thus, the pictures I DID have ready to post will be a little while longer in posting.
The past week has been a bit hectic, but it has finally warmed up a LOT! I was growing very tired of cold, rain, and snow. And then more rain and then more cold and then more snow. The cycle seems to have ceased as of yesterday, I can tell because Megan was reading with her feet sticking out the window.
On today's to-do list includes outlining my speech for next week, which is on photography/cameras ( and will be awesome), mailing some awesome bracelets to Betsy because I'm remotely obsessed, and mailing a check to FCCLA for the state awards banquet on March 30.
This weekend included shopping for swim suits for spring break, which I cannot believe is only two weeks away, a black shirt for the wedding we've been asked to shoot in April (our second! I'm excited) and a dress for state meeting. We also went to Outback...again. Last time we went we got a coupon for $10 off and a free bloomin' onion, so you best believe we were about to hit that up.
In other news: I'M EMPLOYED! I'll be working for Nancy's AllStar Photo when the spring season starts to kick in. I start out at $8/hour as a "poser" and then $10/hour as a coordinator (still not sure what that is) and by the fall they said I should be a for real photographer!! That sounds funny to me because, come on, I'm about to shoot my second wedding with a possible third in May and fourth in August. But it's whatever. Being a photog means $13/hour shooting portraits and games and tournaments, so I think I'll just shut my mouth..for now. Still no news of when the Rue 21 is coming to BG, but part of me hopes it isn't until next semester so I don't have to worry about being gone all summer.
Monday night cookoff has been moved to tomorrow since Megan has a night class tonight, but we shall begin the shopping for baked potato bar. I'm super excited, and so is B...the carboholic.
Speaking of carbs, I'm gonna go eat some breakfast.
Lunch?
Eh, we'll call it a snack =)

College: Spring 2010 -- Day 22

I wouldn't call it slacking, per se.
I would just call it lots of snow and tests appearing out of no where. My first audio assignment is due Thursday and I'm halfway done with it =D
Also, first biology test tomorrow; flash cards smell like Sharpie so bad I can no longer study.
Watching Marley and Me was a bad choice.
I'm getting my hair trimmed tomorrow.

Ok, I'm slacking. I promise there will be pictures....eventually.

College: Spring 2010 -- Day 17

"Dear Caitlin,

Thank you for applying to the Part-Time Sales Teammate (9776) position.

Please know that we have reviewed your application and qualifications; however, you were not selected for the position.

We truly appreciate your interest in the Buckle and we wish you success in your job search.

Sincerely,

Buckle Recruiting Team

This is an automated email; please do not reply to this email address."

Dear Buckle Recruiting Team,
Rue 21 is putting a store in the Greenwood Mall in Bowling Green, so I essentially still have a job. Feel free to stick that in your juice box and SUCK IT.
Sincerely,
Caitlin

College: Spring 2010 -- Day 16

SNOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW!
That's the most important part of today, I do believe. A text message/email alert went around 4:45 this morning notifying students that all classes at all campuses were canceled. It honestly surprised me, because the sidewalks are clearer than they were this past weekend when we had snow. I don't know what their motivation was, but I'll take it! I got a phone tree call telling me that church tonight has been called off, so no free meal =(
Today is Megan's (the new roomie) birthday! So last night I went to one of the stores on campus, and by "went" I really mean "ice skated", and bought a warm delights brownie bowl for her. Kels and I cooked it and put candles in it and were ready to bring it to her when she turned the corner and found us. Cue the birthday song and Kori comes out and tells us we're under the smoke detector, so we had some fanning to do. The brownie was so hot it melted the candles all over the place, but oh well. It was an experience indeed. I also went to see the showing of "Trimpin: the sound of invention" last night. It was really interesting, no lie. This guy is some kind of musical genius. He lives in Seattle, which means I may get a chance to visit him since I GOT A JOB AT SAMBICA SUMMER CAMP!!! I got a call while I was helping out with a 131 Intro to Digital Photography class and called back on my break. I'm so excited about this experience, you have no idea. I've already been looking up plane tickets. It's going to be such an AMAZING summer, for sure. I can only imagine what God has in store for me.
I also had a job interview at The Buckle yesterday at noon. It was really short but I feel ok about it. I'm supposed to hear back today whether or not they want me, so I'm stalking my email hardcore. Let's just say if I get this job, it will be a HUGE step up from Rue 21.

Essentially nothing cool happened Monday; at least nothing I can remember. Well, Megan got her own key, which was awesome because now we don't have to bounce one key back and forth.

I don't have the cable for my camera so I'm gonna hold off on pictures for a little bit. I've made an executive decision to be nothing but lazy today, and so far, it's a success. I made muffins and bacon, and by "I" everyone should know by now I mean Brian and myself, and it was awesome. We may go to Wal*mart later and get a bigger brown belt for Brian, because who knew that if you wear a 32 in pants you don't wear a 32 in belts? Not us, that's for sure. And trying it on in the store would have been WAY too logical. We're geniuses. And we're about to be napping geniuses. The end.

Love and muffins!

College: Spring 2010 -- Day Fourteen

Terrific Top Three!

Breakfast, moving Megan in (her boyfriend and his roommate, Chris and Brice), and dinner Saturday night. I'm super tired after the day of the Super Bowl. I'm super pumped the Saints won though. I really don't have a lot to update on other than I got an email from an online application asking me to call and schedule and interview. We'll see how that plays out =)
G'night world.

College: Spring 2010 -- Day 11

This one's going to be incredibly short because it's so late.
Without further to do, the Top Three:

To sum it up, I organized all my drink...accessories? Got a new toy for my multimedia class, and GOT A ROOMMATE! An email was sent out to all the single ladies in Poland telling us we had to get roommates or pay, and all the girls without roommates were listed. After some facebook stalking, I decided to go visit Megan on the 9th floor. It was essentially love at first sight. We went on our first date tonight in the castle, and she's moving in Saturday afternoon. I'm super excited! She seems very laid back and down to Earth.
I finished my Sambica phone interview today, and I assume that as soon as my references get it together and fill out the forms I sent, I'll hear back about whether or not I'll be spending my summer in Seattle.
It's late. 8:30 comes early.
G'night.

College: Spring 2010 -- Day Nine (Happy Groundhog Day!)

Today's Top Three:

Snow pictures make me happy =)

Monday: Class. Break. Class. Lunch. Class. Call from Sambica summer camp. I am to expect another call very soon. It's super exciting! The way it sounds right now, I'll be a boat driver, which amuses me, but he seemed desperate, so I guess I'll have to polish my skills the few weeks of summer I have before I leave. I'm supposed to teach kids to water ski if I get this position, which will be amusing. "Just pretend you're in a chair. But make sure you have jelly legs!" What? How do you sit in a chair made of jelly?

Today: Speech class this morning, called Claire before I left and she was just outside ATL. After class I went to lunch with Leah and Mitchell. On the way down we stopped to listen to the crazy preachers that periodically visit our campus, which amused me for a while. Then I took a shower and headed to Cracker Barrel. They need someone for Tuesdays and Thursdays. I've got a wide open Tuesday, but my stinkin' multimedia class hogs three hours of my Thursday. I looked into rearranging my schedule just for the sake of having a job, but it's essentially impossible. I guess I'll call back tomorrow and re-offer what I've already got and try to sell myself in a completely non-sexual/non-prostitute way.
I went to Target and Dollar Deals. I bought a pint of orange and apple juice for the sake of a free dozen eggs. I guess I'm making omlettes Saturday morning...I also ran into Kourtney, who I did NOT know worked there. She's getting married in May and I've dropped about 267826718561564 hints about how I'd LOVE to shoot her wedding =) I'm getting ready to work on some of my wedding stuff from December for possible portfolio stuff anyway, so that only makes me want to shoot hers more.
I came back to Poland in time to give myself a papercut and go to Bible Study downstairs, followed by a pj majors meeting. If it weren't for the free candy and a chance of a door prize, I so would NOT go..maybe. It was Leah's first, so I had to.
My Pandora is currently set to "A Capella" and I had NO idea so many crazy songs have a capella versions. Right now it's Justin Timberlake; remotely ruining the ideas I had in store haha.
I've got a quick speech to outline and some notes to highlight, so I shall cease the blogging.
PS.
Squirrel,

Shouldn't you be hibernating? Don't give me that look!

College: Spring 2010 -- Day Seven

"I would like to be thin, but I like fried food better. I'm from the south, we fry everything. We fry vegetables. We fry cornbread and call them hush puppies. We're up to turkeys and candy bars, we aren't stoppin' any time soon. Southern people don't even age, they just drop dead." -- Lisa Landry
I got my $5 book today! $4.74 for a novel that was $15 in the bookstores. Take that, WKU. I win.
I did just about nothing all day. I ate at Pit Stop with B, then got ice cream with Leah and Mitchell. (Also known as Mia and Litchell.) Kelsey came back around 9:00 and we sat around and were slap happy. Bets called and we talked about this summer and Sambica some. She said B and I should be expecting phone calls sometime this week. Hello excitement.
Now, for a new tradition.
Today's Top Trio! (appreciation of alliteration)

1.) Welcome back to college!
2.) My ceiling was purple with a tint of green
3.) What an awesome tie, with an awesome knot. That an awesome person tied...

College: Spring 2010 -- Day Six

Recap:
Thursday-- I really don't remember anything exciting happening other than my first multimedia class. I know a few of the people in there, and I feel it will prove to be an interesting semester. I'm not new to stills and audio, I worked with them a lot senior year in broadcast, but Adobe Premiere is most likely VERY different from Final Cut Pro. Thank goodness I have Mac friends who produce videos...
Friday-- It was cold. All the snow that was supposed to be here at 6 am didn't evens tart until 2:45 or so. My morning class was canceled for essentially no good reason. Then again, this is the lady that sat behind Jesus in preschool, so maybe her thong sandals weren't gonna cut it in the cold weather. Other than that, pretty normal day until the snow hit pretty hard and didn't let up. After I went to my first WKU basketball game (and got a free scop of Culver's...I'm seeing a trend?) I was in Minton with B, so I didn't have Luna and I was tiny bits of upset. We hung out with Mitchell and Leah and played on my macbook and watched Along Came Polly and I broke a window and some other fun stuff that I forgot about that doesn't really matter anyway so the end.
Saturday-- Brian and I were going to cook breakfast for the two of us, but Mitchell and Leah were jealous, so we added them in. Then Kelsey found out and her friend from Louisville, Caitlin, decided to participate, too. By participate I mean sit in the hallway while I made pancakes two at a time in my tiny skillet. Roughly 30 pancakes...and two hours...later, everyone except Brian, Mitchell, and myself had eaten Jimmy John's and ditched on breakfast. Oh well, more bacon for me.
Towards the end of breakfast (and yes, I cleaned everything up, Mom...) B got a text message from one of his fraternity brothers declaring it was time for snow football. We rushed out and shot that for a bit then just roamed around and took pictures and played in the snow. Mostly it was just me playing, but that's ok. I accept the fact that I'm basically a 3-year-old at heart. I LOVE SNOW!
I know you're wondering where your pictures are, but hold your horses, I'm busy eating a turkey and cheese sandwich.

That was delicious. I would like everyone (both of you) to know that I have three types of Kool-Aid in my refrigerator. I'm not ashamed to say that two of them are the squeeze bottle kind, either.
Now for pictures, Jaws is getting grumpy because I'm not paying attention to him.
Ok, quick fact: The iPad could essentially kick my macbook in the face. Also, Apple just released a new version of the white 13-inch. I like it better. Of course, seeing as how this one isn't even a year old. Guess I'll order a keyboard cover and make myself feel special or something...

When you first walk into my room, this is what you see:

To your left you will see what I call a "couch." Please note the $3 pillows.

The rest of the left half, complete with leaning lamp of Big Lots.

I velcroed my iHome remote to the wall. Take THAT, alarm clock!

My kitchen area, including a tangle of cords...it's safe, I sorta promise.

My desk! And TV stand! And drawers!

New rolly cart thing that allowed me to move into my dorm in ONE trip. Thanks, Katie! Also, I now have a big kid mirror in my room =)

I have two closets! With matching curtains! I'm pretty proud of that, true story.

This is where I/and Kelsey/and Brian eat. I call it " pull out table for two"

But this is more typical...oh well

And since I can't have my real Milkshake, I have this one!

A few snow shots:
Yes, I did something incredibly cheesy. It took almost an hour. Don't judge me. I left one of my memory cards in Brian's bag, so...fail me. Anyway, here's what's on my hard drive thus far:
This is either either a) much braver or b) much stupider than I...

Yeah, that just happened...

That is all for now. I have new neighbors; they seem pretty cool. But as far as I'm concerned, roommate free is the way to be! (but only when you don't have to pay for it.)
